The 16th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2022) will provide Vietnamese and international travel industries a chance to re-connect, network, exchange experiences and share ideas.
Titled Growing Forward Together, ITE HCMC 2022, held by the Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, is designed to plan out means of growing inbound tourism during the post-pandemic period.
According to Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism Director Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, ITE HCMC 2022 is one of the important travel events to promote Vietnam and the Mekong sub-region to worldwide enterprises and travelers.
“We’re aggressively encouraging excellent international buyers, businesses, partners, as well as travel experts to network and discover new business prospects,” she added. “The event intends to draw foreign tourists from both established markets as well as new markets to Vietnam in the near period.”
Chief Representative of Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, Lee Jae Hoon, shared that ITE HCMC was a very good platform for Korean travel businesses to connect and network with leading travel agents and operators in Vietnam, as well as a platform for provinces in Korea to showcase diverse destinations and colorful cultures closer to Vietnamese tourists.
“In the scope of ITE HCMC 2022, Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam will conduct the Korea Night on September 9, 2022,” he stated. “The Korea Night will be a magnificent event to deepen the connection between Korea and Vietnam and honor the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties.”
Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau – Ho Chi Minh City Office, Derek Chou, underlined that Vietnam was one of Taiwan’s most significant tourism markets.
“I was thrilled to find out that the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo 2022 will be officially conducted this year after the two-year suspension due to the pandemic,” he remarked. “Taiwan is anticipated to arrange a big delegation to participate in ITE HCMC 2022 to promote Taiwan tourism.”
According to the organizers, domestic and international tourist enterprises who register to exhibit at ITE HCMC 2022 will enjoy numerous incentives and perks.
The event will take place from September 8 to 10 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre, 799 Nguyen Van Linh Street, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam officially reopened to international tourism from March 15 this year. Statistics from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism reveal that overseas visitors to Vietnam grew considerably in April and May. Unsurprisingly, the number of visitors visiting Vietnam in the first five months of this year was 4.5 times greater than the same period last year, totaling 365,300. This is well below the estimate of 5 million foreign tourists for 2022, though.
