06:00 am Arrive at Lao Cai, and drive up the spectacular Sapa pass. Arrive at Sapa in the morning; free time
In the afternoon, ride to Taphin Village of the Red Dzao by bus. Dao women wear a large red turban – often covered with old coins or jewellery. Drive back to Sapa.
Option: Visit Ham Rong Mt
Arrive at Cat Cat Village of the Hmong by a Jeep. Walk down to Cat Cat Valley. Cross a river through small spectacular passes with subtropical forest. Stop for lunch and an energy boost before climbing up to approximately 2,500. Set up camp for the night.
After breakfast, leave base camp around 7.00 am and climb upwards. Pass through a primary forest containing giant centuries-old pine trees and expanses of yellow bamboo. Climb over 3,000m, and arrive at the roof of Vietnam: Fansipan Peak. If the weather is clear, have time to savour the best panorama in Vietnam – see China in the North and West and Lao in the South. Trek back to camp and have a little celebration.
After breakfast, begin the descent and reach Sapa by around lunchtime. In the afternoon, free time to explore the charms of Sapa town, then go to Hanoi.
Upon arrival at Hanoi Railway Station, back to the hotel.
