08:00 am Depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau, Hoa Binh province. After lunch at Lac village, drive to the Hmong village of SaLinh, and trek to Hang Kia. Upon arrival, visit the local exchange stalls to see how the people of this isolated village do business and make their living. Overnight in Hmong family. (L/D)
After breakfast, take an uphill trek before descending Maichau valley to the Van village of the Thai people. Arrive in the early afternoon, and rest before wandering around this scenic valley. After dinner, a chat with the hosts helps you know more about the life and culture of the local people. (B, picnic lunch, D) (Overnight on house-on-stilts)
Walk to Sam Khoe, picked up by a van. Drive back to Lac village and wander around before lunch. Drive back to Hanoi with a stop in Hoa Binh town to see the massive hydropower plant in Vietnam. Arrive in Hanoi around 4.30 pm. Tour ends (B/L)
