Tour Description

Can Gio, an outlying district of Ho Chi Minh City, is a popular ecotourism destination that is only about fifty kilometers south of the city’s central business district. It is the perfect place to go for a day trip on the weekend if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and spend some time in the countryside, where you can see monkeys, mangroves, and beaches.

Can Gio mangrove forest, which covers an area of 1,862 hectares, includes Vam Sat mangrove forest as a component of its ecosystem. It is home to a rich and varied ecosystem full of animals and plants, some of which are species that are typical of salt marsh zones. In the battles fought against French colonialists and American imperialists, the historic canal battleground of Vam Sat played a significant role, and it was the site of several decisive victories. A short time after the war, the residents of Can Gio met here and began replanting trees in order to restore the forest and preserve the original biological conditions of the area…

Itinerary

One Day TourSaigon - Can Gio Vam Sat

Around 8:00 AM, a senior tour guide from Asia Travel Mates will come to your hotel, and from there, you’ll go in a private car to Can Gio. Getting to the Binh Khanh Ferry, from where boats sail for Can Gio, will take around 40 minutes of driving time. After arriving, we’ll head in the direction of the Can Gio mangrove forest, where we can take in the sights of the verdant trees along the road.

At around 10 a.m., you’ll get a chance to take in the sights and sounds of the mangrove forest and learn about the way of life of the people who make their home along the river’s edge. The local fishing village is also a great place to learn about the distinctive flora and wildlife of mangrove forests. Additionally, you will feed a herd of deer who are accustomed to humans, and paddle through the forest to see the Reserve Bats Lagoon and the crab pond.

You may also visit a crocodile farm and see these reptiles in their natural habitat while gaining insight into the hatching process. After that, you’ll make your way to the heart of Vam Sat, where the Tang Bong tower offers breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mangroves. You may also challenge your courage by walking across a suspension bridge while you’re there.

Your trip will resume in the afternoon after a lunch break at the local seafood Restaurant at 1:00. Around 2:30 in the afternoon, you’ll journey to Monkey Island, home to more than a thousand primates. You will board the Binh Khanh boat again at 3:30 p.m. and travel straight to Saigon, where your trip will conclude at about 5:00 p.m.
