Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be greeted by your driver and transferred to your hotel in the city center. The rest of the day is free for you to relax, recover from your jet lag, and start exploring the vibrant streets of Hanoi at your own pace.
Dive into the capital’s rich history with a full-day tour. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and his stilt house, the ancient Temple of Literature, and the serene Hoan Kiem Lake with its iconic Ngoc Son Temple. In the afternoon, take a fascinating cyclo ride through the bustling 36 streets of the Old Quarter. Later, enjoy a traditional water puppet show, a unique Vietnamese art form.
After breakfast, leave the city behind for the stunning Halong Bay. Upon arrival at the harbor, board your traditional junk boat for an unforgettable overnight cruise. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch as you sail past thousands of limestone islands. In the afternoon, visit a spectacular cave, go kayaking through a hidden lagoon, or simply relax on the sundeck. As the sun sets, participate in a cooking demonstration before a delicious dinner.
Greet the day with a Tai Chi session on the deck at sunrise. After a light breakfast, visit a floating pearl farm to learn about local aquaculture. Enjoy a final brunch on board as the ship sails back to the pier. Disembark and drive back to Hanoi airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, transfer to the charming ancient town of Hoi An and check into your hotel.
Today, you’ll explore the magical Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk through its colorful streets, visiting the Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient Chinese merchant houses, and a vibrant local market. In the afternoon, escape the town center on a bicycle tour through the surrounding countryside. Ride along rice paddies, through peaceful villages, and witness local life. The day ends with a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn to prepare classic Vietnamese dishes.
Today is completely free for you to enjoy Hoi An at your own rhythm. Options are plentiful: relax at the beach, get some custom-made clothing from one of the town’s famous tailors, take a day trip to the My Son Sanctuary ruins, or simply continue exploring the quaint streets and cafes of the ancient town.
Enjoy a leisurely morning before transferring to Da Nang airport for your flight to the dynamic south. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City (still popularly known as Saigon) and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to experience the city’s infectious energy.
Delve into history this morning with a visit to the incredible Cu Chi Tunnels. This vast underground network played a crucial role during the Vietnam War. You can even crawl through a safely enlarged section of the tunnels. Return to the city for a afternoon tour of its key sites, including the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, the old Saigon Post Office, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
Journey into the “rice bowl” of Vietnam, the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival in Ben Tre, take a boat trip along the maze of waterways. Visit local workshops to see how coconut candy and rice paper are made. Enjoy a ride in a traditional horse-cart and a sampan boat along palm-shaded canals. Savor a delicious lunch of local specialties before continuing your drive to Can Tho, the heart of the delta, for the night.
Rise early to experience the world of water at the famous Cai Rang Floating Market, the largest and most vibrant in the region. See hundreds of boats loaded with fruits and vegetables gathered for trade. After exploring the market by boat, return to the shore for breakfast. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving in the early afternoon. The rest of the day is free.
Enjoy some free time for last-minute exploration or shopping before your transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The evening is yours to discover the lively Pub Street and sample delicious Khmer cuisine.
Prepare for a day of awe. Wake up before dawn to witness a spectacular sunrise over Angkor Wat, an unforgettable experience. After exploring the world’s largest religious monument inside and out, continue to the ancient city of Angkor Thom. Discover the enigmatic faces of the Bayon Temple, the royal enclosure of the Baphuon, and the terrace of the Elephants. In the afternoon, visit the jungle-enveloped Ta Prohm temple, famously known from the Tomb Raider film.
Venture further afield to the exquisite Banteay Srei temple, known as the “Citadel of Women” for its intricate pink sandstone carvings. On the way back, stop at the Landmine Museum, a sobering but important institution. In the afternoon, experience a different way of life with a boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake. Visit a floating village and learn about the communities that live on the water.
A free day to relax or explore further. Options include visiting the remote Beng Mealea temple, exploring the artisan workshops of the Angkor Handicraft Association, indulging in a relaxing spa treatment, or simply relaxing by the pool.
Transfer to the airport for your short flight to the capital, Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a city tour starting with a visit to the magnificent Royal Palace and the dazzling Silver Pagoda located within its grounds.
Today is a day of somber reflection on Cambodia’s tragic past. Visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21), a former high school that was turned into a secret prison by the Khmer Rouge. Afterwards, journey to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, a memorial to the victims. The afternoon is free to process the morning’s experiences, perhaps with a stroll along the Sisowath Quay riverfront.
