A Global Portfolio, Expanding in Vietnam

Marriott’s footprint in Vietnam is growing fast.

Marriott International is one of the world’s largest hotel companies, with more than 30 brands and over 8,000 properties in 139 countries. In Vietnam, Marriott operates a diverse portfolio spanning luxury, premium and select-service brands, with a development pipeline that will more than double its presence in the coming years.

Marriott’s strength in Vietnam lies in its breadth. The group operates luxury landmarks like JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay and JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, premium brands like Sheraton and Le Méridien, and select-service options like Courtyard by Marriott and Four Points by Sheraton. Through its landmark 2026 agreement with Sun Group, Marriott will add 10 new hotels and resorts across Phu Quoc and Vung Tau, introducing W Hotels and Moxy Hotels to Vietnam for the first time.

Our Approach

We include Marriott International as a verified international hotel group because of its scale and the diversity of its brands in Vietnam. Whether you are looking for a design-led luxury resort or a reliable city hotel, Marriott operates a property that fits.

Brands in Vietnam

Marriott’s brands across Vietnam.

Marriott operates a wide range of brands in Vietnam, from luxury flagships to select-service hotels. Several brands are making their Vietnamese debut through the Sun Group agreement.

Luxury

JW Marriott

Marriott’s flagship luxury brand. In Vietnam, JW Marriott operates JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay (designed by Bill Bensley), JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, and JW Marriott Hotel & Suites Saigon. A third JW Marriott is planned for Trang An.

Ultra-Luxury

Ritz-Carlton Reserve

A rare ultra-luxury brand, with a resort planned for Hon Thom Island in Phu Quoc. Slated to open in 2028, it will feature 40 pool villas designed by Bill Bensley and is one of the brand’s most exclusive properties globally.

Luxury

The Luxury Collection

A collection of distinct luxury hotels and resorts. The Luxury Collection Resort on Hon Thom Island is slated to open in 2029 with 305 rooms and suites, part of Sun Group’s development in Phu Quoc.

Premium

Sheraton

A globally recognised premium brand. Sheraton operates in Hanoi, Vinh (operated by Vinpearl), and other locations. Four Points by Sheraton is also present in Danang and Ha Giang.

Premium

Le Méridien

A European-inspired premium brand. Le Méridien Phu Quoc (432 keys) is scheduled to open in 2027 as part of the Sun Group agreement, adding to Marriott’s premium presence in Vietnam.

Lifestyle Debut

W Hotels

A luxury lifestyle brand making its Vietnamese debut. W Phu Quoc (526 keys) is scheduled to open in 2027 as part of the Sun Group agreement, bringing the brand’s bold design to Vietnam.

Strategic Agreement

The Marriott and Sun Group agreement.

In 2026, Marriott International signed a multi-property agreement with Sun Group to bring 10 new hotels and resorts — spanning eight brands and almost 4,500 keys — across Phu Quoc and Vung Tau.

Phu Quoc

Seven new properties are planned for Phu Quoc: Moxy Phu Quoc Hon Thom (501 keys, 2026), Fairfield by Marriott Phu Quoc Hon Thom (353 keys, 2026), W Phu Quoc (526 keys, 2027), Phu Quoc Marriott Resort & Spa (826 keys, 2027), The Westin Phu Quoc (527 keys, 2027), Le Méridien Phu Quoc (432 keys, 2027) and Courtyard by Marriott Phu Quoc (300 keys, 2027).

Vung Tau

Three properties are planned for Vung Tau, scheduled to open in 2030: Vung Tau Marriott Hotel (300 keys), Moxy Vung Tau (350 keys) and Four Points by Sheraton Vung Tau (350 keys). The new Long Thanh International Airport will improve access to the area.

Brand Debuts

This agreement marks the Vietnamese debut of two Marriott brands: W Hotels, the luxury lifestyle offering, and Moxy Hotels, the stylish and playful brand for modern travellers. The properties are integral elements of Sun Group’s destination-defining developments.

Luxury Expansion

Marriott’s luxury portfolio in Vietnam.

Marriott has been expanding its luxury presence in Vietnam with signings that introduce new brands and reinforce its commitment to the market.

In 2023, Marriott announced the signing of three luxury resorts in Vietnam: The Luxury Collection Resort on Hon Thom Island, Ritz-Carlton Reserve on Hon Thom Island, and JW Marriott Trang An Resort & Spa in northern Vietnam. These signings mark the expected debut of Ritz-Carlton Reserve and The Luxury Collection in Vietnam, and represent Marriott’s confidence in the country’s luxury travel market.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa, designed by Bill Bensley and opened in 2017, remains one of Marriott’s most celebrated properties in Asia — a whimsical, story-driven resort set on Khem Beach that has become a destination in its own right.

Marriott’s growth in Vietnam reflects the country’s rising profile as a destination for both leisure and business travel. With 42 hotels across 11 brands following the Sun Group agreement, Marriott is positioning itself as a leader in Vietnam’s hospitality sector across every segment.

The agreement with Sun Group is particularly significant because it introduces two new brands to Vietnam — W Hotels and Moxy Hotels — and deepens Marriott’s presence in Phu Quoc, which is emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic resort destinations. The addition of three Vung Tau properties also signals Marriott’s interest in Vietnam’s southern coastal cities beyond the established hubs of Danang and Nha Trang.
