Not simply classic Vietnam with a longer walk. A genuinely different kind of journey.
Adventure & Nature is built around travel that requires movement — multi-day treks into the rice terraces of Sapa, long-distance cycling across the northern mountains, kayaking expeditions in Ha Long and Lan Ha Bay, and cave exploration in Phong Nha. These journeys reach the parts of Vietnam that classic routes cannot: the Ha Giang plateau, the remote valleys around Bac Ha, the karst country of Ninh Binh, and the cave systems of central Vietnam.
Each journey in this collection has its own adventure identity. Ha Giang is about remoteness. Sapa is about trekking. Ninh Binh is about landscape. Phong Nha is about caves. Cycling is about distance. Every journey can be adapted, extended, or combined.
What “Private Adventure Journey” Means
Your itinerary is designed and operated exclusively for your party. Your own trekking or cycling guide, your own support vehicle, your own equipment, and where appropriate your own porters and support crew. Every permit is arranged by us. You will never join a fixed group departure.
Adventure & Nature Tours is one of the collections in the Vietnam Tour Collections system — a set of journeys organised around how you actually want to travel.
Why Choose an Adventure Journey
Six reasons active travellers choose our Adventure & Nature collection over a classic Vietnam tour.
Reaches Beyond the Standard Routes
The Ha Giang plateau, the remote valleys around Bac Ha, the Tu Lan cave systems of Phong Nha — these destinations do not appear on classic Vietnam itineraries. They require time, permits, and a support crew — and they are the reason travellers come back.
Multiple Activities, One Journey
Every journey combines trekking, cycling, kayaking, and caving. You travel through Vietnam rather than simply seeing it — from the saddle of a bike, the deck of a kayak, and the trail of a mountain pass.
Professional Guides & Support
Trekking and cycling guides trained in wilderness first aid. Support vehicles throughout. Quality mountain bikes, kayaks, helmets, and caving equipment. Every permit arranged by us.
Distinct Adventure Identities
Ha Giang is remote. Sapa is trekking. Ninh Binh is landscape. Phong Nha is caves. Cycling is distance. These are not the same itinerary at different lengths — they are different journeys with different identities.
Comfortable, Not Hardcore
Remote travel does not have to be rough. We end every day at comfortable, well-chosen lodges and boutique properties. Hot showers, good food, and clean beds — with the wilderness right outside the door.
Fully Tailored to Your Level
Every itinerary can be adapted to your fitness level. Whether you are an experienced trekker or a first-time cyclist, we adjust the pace, altitude, and activity load accordingly.
The Four Activities That Define This Collection
Every journey in Adventure & Nature combines at least three of these — and some combine all four.
The Adventure Vietnam Progression
Nine journeys, one adventure ladder — from a focused 8-day landscape escape to a 16-day full-country cycling adventure.

Notes on Active Travel in Vietnam
Insights from Andy Nguyen, Adventure Travel Expert at Asia Travel Mates.
Pick the Journey, Not the Number of Days
“Adventure travellers should choose by what they want to do — trek, cycle, kayak, cave, or reach a remote region — not by how many days the journey runs. The right journey is the one whose activities match your interests.”
The North Is Where the Adventure Is
“Most of Vietnam’s adventure potential is in the north — Ha Giang, Sapa, Bac Ha, and the karst country of Ninh Binh. Central Vietnam adds Phong Nha’s caves and the central coast cycling.”
October & November Are the Golden Months
“For the northern mountains, October and November offer the best combination of clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and dry roads. Spring (March to May) is also excellent for trekking.”
Support Makes a Difference
“A support vehicle transforms what a journey feels like. You can cycle or trek as far as you want, then ride if the weather turns or you want to save energy for the next day. All our journeys include one.”
Fitness Level Is a Design Input
“Be honest about your fitness during the design phase. Every journey can be adapted — shorter trekking days, gentler gradients, more rest stops. The journey should be a joy, not a test.”
Comfort at the End of the Day Matters
“Remote travel in Vietnam does not mean rough. We end every day at comfortable lodges and boutique properties — hot showers, good food, clean beds. You need real rest to enjoy the next day’s activity.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes an Adventure & Nature Tour different from a Classic Vietnam Tour?
Adventure & Nature Tours are built around active, outdoor experiences — multi-day treks, long-distance cycling, kayaking expeditions, cave exploration, and remote mountain travel. They are designed for travellers who want to move through Vietnam rather than simply see it, and they reach destinations and landscapes that classic routes do not.
What fitness level is required?
Fitness levels vary by journey. Moderate trips involve 3 to 5 hours of activity per day on mixed terrain. Challenging trips (Ha Giang, Sapa, Phong Nha) involve longer days, steeper ascents, and higher altitude. We recommend an honest self-assessment and discuss the right journey for your fitness level during the design phase.
Do these tours include multi-day trekking?
Yes. Several journeys include multi-day trekking with overnight stays in village homestays and remote mountain lodges. The Sapa & Northern Mountains journey and the Vietnam Hiking & Trekking Journey are the most trekking-focused of the collection.
Is the Ha Giang loop suitable for beginners?
The Ha Giang loop is remote and involves long driving days on mountain roads. It is suitable for adventurous travellers with a reasonable level of fitness and comfort with high-altitude driving. We can arrange easier alternatives for those who prefer to avoid the most challenging sections.
Do I need to bring my own cycling equipment?
Quality mountain bikes, helmets, and support vehicles are provided on all our cycling journeys. We recommend bringing your own cycling shoes and, if you prefer, your own helmet — though helmets are also available locally.
What is the best time of year for active Vietnam travel?
The best seasons for active travel in Vietnam are spring (February to April) and autumn (September to November). The northern mountains are cool and clear in October and November. Central Vietnam is driest from February to August. We plan each journey around the best seasonal windows for its destinations.
Are these tours private or group?
All our Adventure & Nature Tours are private journeys — your own guide, your own support vehicle, and your own itinerary. No group departures, no fixed dates.
Can families with teenagers join?
Yes. Many of our Adventure & Nature Tours are excellent for families with teenagers aged 12 and above. The Ninh Binh, Sapa, and Cycling journeys are particularly well-suited. We adapt the pace and activity level for each family.
Do you arrange permits for restricted areas?
Yes. Some destinations in northern Vietnam (parts of Ha Giang, remote Sapa valleys) require permits. All permits are arranged by us as part of the journey — you do not need to apply for anything yourself.
What is included in the tour price?
All Adventure & Nature Tours include accommodation, meals as specified, professional trekking and cycling guides, quality equipment, private support vehicles, permits, and all entrance fees. International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included.
