Ten collections. Ten ways to travel Vietnam. One country you will remember.
Vietnam is not one destination — it is at least ten. A family holiday is not the same as a honeymoon. A culinary journey is not the same as a beach holiday. A cultural deep dive is not the same as a photography expedition.
Rather than offer one generic list of “Vietnam tours”, we have organised our journeys into ten collections. Each collection is built around what matters most to you on this trip. Time and coverage in Classic. Age and pace in Family. Comfort in Luxury. Romance in Honeymoon. Activity level in Adventure. Cultural interest in Heritage. Food region in Culinary. Season in Beach. Rhythm in Wellness. And personal interest in Special Interest.
Start with how you want to travel. The right collection will be obvious from there.

Each collection is built for a different kind of trip. Find the one that sounds like yours.
Ten Ways to Travel Vietnam
Ten different entry points into the same country. However you want to travel Vietnam, there is a collection for it.

Classic Vietnam Tours
For the classic Vietnam journey.
The main Vietnam journey collection — private tours through Vietnam’s essential destinations, from focused introductions to deep North-to-South explorations. This is the reference collection for the whole Vietnam system.
Explore Classic Vietnam
Vietnam Family Tours
For travelling with children and grandchildren.
Vietnam for families — journeys designed around the age and pace of the travellers, whether you are travelling with young children, teenagers, or multiple generations together.
Explore Family Vietnam
Vietnam Luxury Tours
For travelling in greater comfort and style.
Vietnam experienced with privacy, comfort and refinement — luxury hotels, heritage properties, private cruises, fine dining and exclusive access. Slow, discreet, personally attended throughout.
Explore Luxury Vietnam
Vietnam Honeymoon Tours
For romance, quiet days and time together.
Journeys designed for couples and honeymooners — romance combined with culture, beach and privacy. Boutique stays, private dining, unhurried days together, and a beach finale that means something.
Explore Honeymoon Vietnam
Vietnam Adventure Tours
For trekking, cycling, caves and remote landscapes.
Vietnam’s landscapes through trekking, cycling, caves, kayaking and remote regions — from gentle adventure to serious multi-day journeys. The activity level is honest, not generic.
Explore Adventure Vietnam
Vietnam Cultural & Heritage Tours
For Vietnam’s history, empires and living traditions.
Vietnam understood through imperial history, ancient towns, ethnic cultures, temples and living heritage. Organised by theme — imperial, ancient, colonial, ethnic, spiritual — not by duration.
Explore Cultural Vietnam
Vietnam Culinary Tours
For travellers who want to eat their way through Vietnam.
Vietnam discovered through food — street food, regional cuisine, cooking classes, markets, coffee culture and local kitchens. Organised by culinary region and food experience, with deep links into our food knowledge base.
Explore Culinary Vietnam
Vietnam Beach & Island Tours
For sun, sea and choosing the right coast.
Vietnam’s coast and islands — from Phu Quoc and Con Dao to the central coast and Nha Trang. Organised by season and beach style, with clear guidance on which coast works when.
Explore Beach Vietnam
Vietnam Nature & Wellness Tours
For slowing down, restoring and breathing out.
Vietnam at a slower pace — mountains, countryside, rivers, retreats and wellness journeys designed to restore. Fewer destinations, longer stays, and rhythm over coverage.
Explore Nature & Wellness
Vietnam Special Interest Tours
For when your interest is the reason you travel.
Photography, architecture, rail journeys, golf, coffee, crafts, cycling, birdwatching and other interests designed into a private Vietnam journey. Organised by what you love — not by duration or region.
Explore Special InterestRelated Collections and Journeys
Three additional collections that complement the ten Vietnam collections above.
Short Vietnam Escapes
Eight short journeys for travellers who don’t have 10–14 days. Ideal as stopovers, business-trip add-ons, cruise extensions, or Asia-trip legs.
Collection · 10–16 DaysVietnam for Couples
Eight journeys for two — romantic escapes, luxury stays, beach and romance, slow travel, and honeymoon journeys. Couples travel is not the same as honeymoon travel.
Collection · 10–16 DaysVietnam for Seniors
Six comfortable journeys built around shorter walking periods, flexible sightseeing, quality restaurants, rest, and medical/comfort planning for senior travellers.
What Makes Each Collection Different
Each collection helps you choose differently — because what matters on your trip is not the same as what matters on someone else’s.
Vietnam in Three Regions
Every collection draws from the same three regions. How each collection uses those regions is what makes it distinctive.
Capital, Karst & Mountains
Vietnam’s historical and cultural heart. Karst landscapes at Halong Bay and Ninh Binh, ethnic minority cultures in the northern mountains, and the atmospheric capital city.
Heritage, Coast & Cuisine
Vietnam’s most concentrated heritage zone — imperial Hue, ancient Hoi An, Cham ruins at My Son, and the country’s most refined regional cuisine. Central coast beaches for beach time.
Metropolis, Delta & Islands
Vietnam’s modern and tropical south — Saigon’s energy, the Mekong Delta’s waterways, the islands and beaches of the Gulf of Thailand, and the cool highlands of Da Lat.
Vietnam’s Key Destinations
Fifteen destinations that appear across the ten collections. Each one connects to a dedicated destination page with its own attractions, experiences and seasonal guidance.

Hanoi
Vietnam’s atmospheric northern capital — Old Quarter, Temple of Literature, street food.

Halong Bay
UNESCO limestone seascape — overnight cruises, kayaking, cave visits.

Ninh Binh
Karst landscapes at Trang An, Tam Coc and Hoa Lu ancient capital.

Lan Ha Bay
Halong Bay’s quieter neighbour — the same limestone seascape, far fewer boats.

Sapa
Terraced rice fields, hill tribe cultures and Fansipan mountain.

Hue
Vietnam’s imperial capital — Citadel, royal tombs, Perfume River.

Hoi An
UNESCO Ancient Town — lanterns, tailors, cooking, beaches nearby.

Da Nang
Central coast beach city — My Khe Beach, Marble Mountains, gateway to Hoi An.

Nha Trang
Vietnam’s classic beach city — islands, coral reefs, mud baths, resorts.

Phong Nha
UNESCO national park and cave system — including Son Doong, the world’s largest cave.

Ho Chi Minh City
Vietnam’s modern southern metropolis — heritage district and street food.

Mekong Delta
Vietnam’s tropical waterways — floating markets, canals, farm-to-table.

Phu Quoc Island
Vietnam’s premier island — white-sand beaches, cable car, island resorts and night markets.

Con Dao Island
Vietnam’s most exclusive island — Six Senses, protected marine park, sea turtle conservation.

Da Lat
Vietnam’s cool highland retreat — pine forests, French villas, coffee plantations and waterfalls.
How to Choose Your Vietnam Journey
Insights from Andy Nguyen Dinh, Co-Founder of Asia Travel Mates.
Start With How You Want to Travel
“Most travellers open a tour site and immediately start comparing prices on a list of ten tours. That is the wrong order. Start with how you actually want to travel. If your question is ‘which Vietnam journey for my family?’, the Family collection will serve you better than the Classic list — because it was built specifically for that trip.”
A Journey Can Belong to Two Collections
“Our collections are ways of looking at Vietnam, not silos. A single journey can appear in Cultural, Culinary and Beach collections at the same time — because it genuinely belongs to all three. What makes the collection pages useful is not that they are exclusive, but that they are honest about what they are for.”
Some Collections Are Smaller — and That Is Correct
“Classic Vietnam has more journeys than Special Interest — because Classic covers more ground and answers a broader question. We do not artificially pad every collection to ten. If you see a collection with six journeys, that is because six is what it actually takes to build the right trips for that style of travel.”
Combining Collections Is Normal
“A journey can start in Classic, move through Culinary, and finish in Beach. There is no rule against it. Some of the best journeys we have designed combine three or four collections. The collections exist to help you organise your thinking — not to limit what we can build.”
Special Interest Is Where the Unexpected Lives
“If your interest is photography, architecture, coffee, crafts, golf or rail journeys, Special Interest is where we build something that does not exist anywhere else. Photography in Ha Giang at the right time of year, or coffee farm visits in the Central Highlands — these are the journeys that travellers talk about for years.”
Which Collection Suits a First Trip?
“For a first trip to Vietnam with no specific focus, start with Classic Vietnam. If your first trip has a clear focus — family, food, culture, honeymoon, beach — start with that collection instead. It will be more useful than the general list. There is no wrong collection to start with — only a collection that fits a different trip than the one you are planning.”
Every journey is a starting point — the collection is a starting idea.
Tell us what you actually want from Vietnam — the trip you would design if you knew the country as well as we do. We will build it, whether it fits one collection or several.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right Vietnam collection for my trip?
Start with how you want to travel. If you want the classic Vietnam experience with time to see more, use Classic Vietnam Tours. If you’re travelling with family, use Family Tours. If comfort, romance, activity level, culture, food, beaches, wellness or a specific personal interest matters most, use the corresponding collection. Each collection is a different way to see Vietnam — not a duplicate of the same list.
Do you have shorter Vietnam journeys for travellers with less time?
Yes — see our Short Vietnam Escapes collection. Those journeys run from 3 to 5 days and are designed as focused city breaks, cruise add-ons, or extensions to a longer Asia trip. They include journeys like Hanoi 3-Day Escape, HCMC & Mekong 4 Days, and Hoi An 4-Day Escape.
Do you offer journeys for senior travellers?
Yes — see Vietnam for Seniors. Those journeys are built with fewer hotel changes, private transport, comfortable hotels, shorter walking periods and medical/comfort planning — with a mix of gentle introductions, heritage journeys, slow travel, and multi-generational family journeys.
Do you offer journeys for couples who are not on honeymoon?
Yes — see Vietnam for Couples. That collection is designed for any two people travelling together, whether married or not, celebrating an occasion or simply travelling as a pair. Honeymoon journeys are treated as a distinct subset within the wider couples category.
Are your Vietnam journeys private?
Yes. Every journey across every collection is private — your own guide, your own vehicle and driver, and your own itinerary. There are no group departures and no fixed dates.
Can a journey belong to more than one collection?
Yes. A single tour can appear in more than one collection if it genuinely suits multiple travel styles — for example, a journey that combines culture, food and beach may appear in Cultural, Culinary and Beach collections. The collections are designed to help you find the right trip, not to silo the products.
Do all collections have the same number of tours?
No. The number of tours in each collection reflects the real product inventory. Some collections are naturally broader (Classic Vietnam Tours) while others are more focused (Special Interest Tours). Each collection page shows exactly which journeys belong to it.
Which collection is best for a first trip to Vietnam?
Classic Vietnam Tours is designed as the main entry point — with journeys ranging from focused introductions to deep North-to-South explorations. If your first trip has a specific focus (family, honeymoon, food, culture, beach), start with that collection instead — it will be more useful than a general overview.
Can I combine two or more collections in one journey?
Yes. Collections are ways of looking at the same country, not separate booking systems. A single journey can combine elements from several — for example a Classic route with a Culinary focus and a Beach finale. We design the combination based on what you actually want from the trip.
Are the journeys customizable?
Yes. Every journey in every collection is a starting point. You can change hotels, add or remove days, add destinations, extend beach time, upgrade accommodation, and add private experiences. Tell us your dates, interests, and preferred pace and we will adapt the journey around you.
What is included in a Vietnam journey?
All Asia Travel Mates journeys include accommodation, meals as specified, private guides and transportation, entrance fees, and airport transfers. Many also include Halong Bay cruises, domestic flights, cooking classes, and other signature experiences depending on the journey. International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included.
