What makes Asia Travel Mates different from other travel companies?
We’re small, senior and private. Every journey is designed and delivered by people who actually know the region from the inside — not a call center, not a booking platform, not a fixed-package reseller. You work with one specialist throughout, from first conversation to journey home.
Do you offer group tours or only private journeys?
All our journeys are private — designed for you and your travel companions. We don’t operate fixed group departures. Every itinerary is customizable around your dates, interests and pace.
How does the customization process work?
We start with a conversation — what you’re imagining, your dates, your interests, your pace. A local specialist then designs an itinerary around that. We refine it together until it feels right, then deliver it with our local team on the ground. See the “How We Work” section above for the four steps.
Do you work with travel advisors and agencies?
Yes. We work with travel advisors, tour operators, agencies and DMCs across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. Our trade partnership includes confidential net rates, a senior point of contact and reliable ground operations across Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Visit the B2B page for details.
How do you approach responsible and community-based travel?
We work with communities directly, pay fair rates and build long-term relationships rather than one-off bookings. Many of our journeys include community-based experiences — village homestays, craft projects, local guides. Learn more through our community-based tourism specialists.
What happens if something goes wrong during a journey?
Every journey has a direct operations line for guides and travelers. We handle on-the-day adjustments, weather re-routing, and emergency problem solving — often before the traveler even knows there was an issue. This is part of the delivery and support step in our process.

How long has Asia Travel Mates been operating?
Asia Travel Mates was re-founded in 2022 by Andy Nguyen Dinh, who has more than 25 years of experience in travel across Vietnam and Indochina. Our specialists bring decades of combined experience working with travelers, trade partners and communities across the region.
